In session five, Delia and Jessica welcome our first guest to Deeper than Day—Matthew Stelzner, host of Correlations, the Archetypal Astrology Podcast, where both of us have been regular guests since 2011. Matthew describes his evolving journey as an astrologer over the past 22 years, and how the creation of oracular space in an astrological reading allows the living symbols of the planetary archetypes to express themselves, and the magic to happen. The three of us explore the similarities and differences between opening to an archetypal download and participating in an ongoing therapeutic relationship.

In session four, Delia and Jessica go on a Saturn-Mars archetypal odyssey exploring different ways that Mars can express as the emotion of anger, and how we can bring a Saturnian discipline and focus to that expression in our relationships, family systems and work in the world. They discuss woking with anger in an affect-avoidant culture, where aggression often comes through as toxic hyper-masculinity, and how to recover the libidinal life-force beneath that. Now is a powerful time to reflect on the Saturn-Mars opposition in the sky as it is currently alive and well on the world stage for all of us.

In session three, Jessica and Delia explore how world transits are ongoing evolutionary expressions of the Anima Mundi, or world soul, and how our personal attention to this layer of archetypal expression contextualizes our psychological understanding of birth charts and personal transits. Our individual participation in the collective energies through our birth charts (the world transits at the moment of our incarnation) and our personal transits (the world transits’ ongoing, unfolding relationship to our birth chart) creates our unique, personal relationship with the transpersonal outer planets. How we take responsibility for bringing transpersonal archetypal energies down to earth in human form becomes our offering to the Divine.

In Session Two, we explore the phenomenon of Mercury Retrograde, and how we use this archetypal opportunity to remember, reexamine, and retell our stories in the therapeutic relationship.

On this Full Moon we would like to introduce you to our podcast, Deeper Than Day, a conversation born out of our love for depth psychology and archetypal astrology.

Astrology is the language of the stars, as psychology is the language of the psyche. Logos, the Word, gives breath to all things, making meaningful the utterance of the cosmos in the patterns of the heavenly bodies, as the utterance of the psyche comes in symptom, feeling, image, and is made meaningful by our attempt to translate our deepest human experience into language.  We invite you to join us in our ongoing dialogue as we explore the phenomenological correlations between cosmos and psyche.

In psychotherapy and other healing professions, therapist and client can enter a temenos, a sacred space of emotional and psychological connection, to activate the healing process. The therapist actively invites the client to express their suffering and difficult feelings and experiences for their common focus, but the process activates the psyche of the clinician as well. As Carl Jung famously said, “the meeting of two personalities is like the contact between two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.” In our first session, as depth psychotherapists and archetypal astrologers, we discuss this process as an expression of the Saturn-Neptune archetypal combination—a Neptunian melting or dissolution of the Saturnian boundaries people hold between their skin-encapsulated egos—and have a conversation about some of the ways we hold and work with energetic boundaries.
